New Holland Construction just dropped a big announcement ahead of CONEXPO-CON/AGG. The company is expanding its D-Series range by adding five new diesel mini excavator models: the E12D, E19D, E30D, E38D and E60D. These machines — which are all designed in-house — join the previously introduced E42D and E50D models from 2025. This release creates New Holland Construction’s most extensive mini excavator lineup yet. New Holland highlighted that these new diesel machines will be part of a family that includes two electric options, the E15X and E25X. That brings the total number of D-Series models to nine.

“With the expansion of the D-Series mini excavators, we’re delivering a truly complete lineup that’s built to serve every type of customer, from rental fleets and landscapers to utility and heavy-use operators,” says Dan Kakareka, product marketing manager for New Holland Construction North America. “What makes this lineup stand out is not just the range of sizes, but the consistency in features, comfort and capability across every model.”

More on the D-Series

New Holland’s D-Series expansion spans three machine classes. This allows customers to choose the right size machine for their operation while maintaining consistent features across the lineup.

Two models, the E12D and E19D, fit into the compact class. These lightweight models are ideal for residential construction, landscaping, rental fleets and light utility work. They excel in confined spaces thanks to their retractable tracks and a small footprint. New Holland pointed out the E19D has the hydraulic power needed to operate higher-demand attachments. There’s also an option for a heated cab.

The E30D and E38D models fit in the mid-size class. These are “one-size-fits-all” machines that can help contractors and operators complete a variety of tasks.

From the press release:

The 3.5-metric-ton E38D delivers a balance of power, transportability and versatility that makes it fit for a wide range of applications, from utility installation and urban construction to roadside work and light demolition. These machines remain easy to transport without requiring a CDL license and are quiet enough for work in populated areas. From the E38D upward, operators gain access to an optional six-way blade, enhancing precision and flexibility on grading and finish work.

Rounding out the lineup and the large class option is the E60D. Designed to be a true jobsite workhorse, the E60D is built for heavier-duty applications. It offers increased hydraulic performance, premium cab features and the ability to run demanding attachments such as mulchers. Operators benefit from available heat and air conditioning, an air-suspension seat and expanded lighting and visibility features for long days on challenging jobsites.

Even More Features

The D-Series excavators come standard with first and second auxiliary hydraulics, pattern changers, rearview cameras, LED work lights and zero tail swing design. These features allow operators to work safely and efficiently in tight spaces. Customers can opt for cabs on all models except the E12D.

New Holland added the D-Series is designed to maximize attachment versatility. The machines are compatible with CNH-branded buckets, thumbs and couplers. They can also be paired with a wide range of industry-standard attachments, including:

  • hammers
  • compaction plates
  • grapples
  • augers
  • mowers
  • mulchers

The company said select models offer a dedicated mulcher hydraulic line. This delivers uninterrupted, high-flow performance without sacrificing machine functionality.

Operators will appreciate the machines’ automotive-style cabs that feature intuitive layouts, adjustable controls and the ability to save attachment flow and pressure settings for quick changeovers. Maintenance is made easier with tiltable cabs or canopies for easy access to hydraulic components. Larger models in the D-Series include reversible cooling fans and an electric fuel pump that simplifies refueling in remote locations.

Another benefit of the D-Series is a standard seven-year telematics subscription through myNewHollandConstruction. This gives owners and fleet managers the ability to monitor machine performance, location and health at no additional cost at the time of purchase.

“We’re proud to bring a complete mini excavator offering to our current customers and to introduce a new generation of operators to New Holland Construction through these machines,“ Kakareka said. “Whether it’s a first-time buyer, a growing rental fleet or a seasoned contractor, these machines are built to perform in a way that keeps customers coming back and getting hooked on the D-Series.“
