Werk-Brau recently held its annual golf outing to benefit Construction Angels, a non-profit organization that provides immediate financial support and grief counseling to the families of fallen construction workers. The sold-out event — now in its 3rd year — was held at Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City, Ohio, and raised more than $100,000.

Thirty-two foursomes — which included contractors from across the state — competed during the outing. According to the press release, these teams ranged from small operations to nationally known companies like Kokosing, Miller Brothers and The Shelly Company. In addition to contractors, construction suppliers and other industry allies attended the outing. The foursome from Rudd Equipment took home top honors with a score of 56. The team from George J Igel scored a hole-in-one to claim the $10,000 prize.

The outing also included a “closest to the pin” contest and a unique putting contest where participants had to putt using a mini excavator outfitted with a Werk-Brau tiltrotator and a one-of-a-kind Werk-Brau putter head attachment. A successful raffle helped raise even more money and included cool prizes like grills, unique dining experiences and more.

“Wow — a huge shoutout to everyone who made today such a resounding success,” said Werk-Brau regional manager and golf outing chairman Neil Recker, “Once again, the construction industry showed up big time! Thanks to the golfers, sponsors, customers, partners and volunteers who made it a great day. Many Ohio families of fallen construction workers will be helped because of you.”
