Spec Guide 2019: We Will Be Releasing Summaries and Specs for Seven Different Machine Categories Online Over the Next Month

CE July August cover

Ah, where to begin? Probably by thanking the more than 30 manufacturers that helped us pull together the most comprehensive summary of models, technologies, options, specifications and advice in the compact equipment marketplace. Our 136-page July/August print edition required a lot of research, and a lot of that legwork came from the equipment manufacturers who provided us the information. But even if you don’t subscribe to Compact Equipment‘s print edition (it is free, ya know), we will be releasing over a 100 different posts summarizing all the brands in these seven categories: 1) skid steers; 2) compact track loaders; 3) compact excavators; 4) utility tractors; 5) utility vehicles; 6) compact tool carriers; and 7) wheel loaders. All these posts will be titled with Spec Guide 2019, and they will be waiting online until you need them.

Special thanks for this gargantuan effort should also go to managing editor Pam Kleineke, who worked back and forth with me and exactly one zillion different PR and media contacts to assemble, compile, edit, fact check and then proof each section of this whale multiple times. MULTIPLE TIMES. Thanks also goes to designer Sarah Haughawout, who now basically sees in numbers à la The Matrix, for making all this information fit beautifully and also making this glut of facts very approachable.

This year’s version is designed as a 12-month reference guide, so bookmark this site. There are a ton of brands on the market, so this guide should be a great reference point to begin to compare model to model. Of course, the dealer is an invaluable resource for researching and test-driving compact machinery, but before you go, ensure you bulk up on brands, technologies and specifications with Compact Equipment’s 2019 Spec Guide.
