Video: Machine Heads Discusses the Micro Muscle of Kubota’s SVL50x Compact Track Loader

Watch the Latest Interview Above

Machine Heads is back with a new episode — and this time, host Wayne Grayson dives into Kubota’s bold new entry into the ultra-compact track loader market — the SVL50x. Joined by Jerry Corder, Kubota’s product manager for construction equipment, the two break down the why, what and where of this 48-in.-wide compact track loader (CTL). From jobsite origins to operator features and electrohydraulic (EH) control rationale, the episode offers a full walkaround of the SVL50x — Kubota’s smallest CTL to date, but one that’s purpose-built for modern, constrained jobsites.

Not Just a Smaller SVL — A Whole New Animal

Kubota-SVL50x

This isn’t just a miniaturized SVL75. The SVL50x was designed with precision to meet demand for ultra-small, full-cab machines that can still lift, grade and run attachments efficiently. It fits tight residential lots and narrow access points — all while boasting a cab option, rearview camera, touchscreen control and advanced ride damping (via Kubota’s Shockless Ride suspension option). Why EH over traditional pilot controls? Kubota needed a more flexible architecture to layer on modern features — creep mode, adjustable responsiveness to tracks and loader and user-defined settings. The result is a nimble, 5,620-lb machine that punches well above its weight.
