Kubota’s latest track loader introductions include the new SVL50x and the SVL97-3, arriving in dealer showrooms in 2025. The 48-in. wide SVL50x takes the spot as Kubota’s smallest CTL in its lineup. Kubota Tractor Corp. began marketing in the United States in 1972, with an initial introduction of a 12-hp compact tractor. Since then, the company has greatly expanded its product offerings, joining the compact track loader market in 2010. Today, Kubota’s track loader offerings include the SVL50x, SVL65-2, SVL75-3 and the SVL97-3.
The newest models in the Kubota track loader lineup are the SVL50x and the SVL97-3. The 48-in. wide SVL50x is all-new and is the smallest CTL in the Kubota lineup. Boasting a small footprint and lightweight design, the SVL50x is designed to fit into the small spaces inherent to residential construction and landscaping and for snow removal on sidewalks and in small parking lots. The SVL97-3 is the latest iteration of the SVL97-2 and features upgrades such as a one-piece sealed cab, a 7-in. LCD touchscreen with passcode-enabled keyless start, improved serviceability and increased performance overall.
Cabs, Undercarriage, Rollup Doors, Attachments and More
Kubota is on its third generation of the SVL. The “dash 3” generation machines feature a one-piece sealed cab that allows for a cleaner and quieter in-cab work environment and numerous technology and serviceability enhancements. Performance was improved with the transition from the second generation to the third. This was accomplished through design changes and added features that allow for improved cycle times and multifunction operation. Kubota CTLs have a rigid track frame design, which is an integral part of the lower chassis with welds, not bolts, for a more robust design. That rigid frame allows the machine to remain stable when grading or lifting heavy loads.
Kubota also pioneered the roll-up door, which is featured on all cabbed Kubota CTLs. The roll-up door allows the machine to be operated with the door open to facilitate communication or to improve visibility when working with certain loads or attachments. Kubota has a focus on routine maintenance and serviceability, and as such, Kubota engine compartments allow convenient access to the battery, filters and fluid fills. Serviceability was specifically addressed in the new SVL97-3, where the radiator swings 90 degrees out of the way, drastically improving engine compartment access.
Kubota’s attachments come from its sister company, Land Pride, which manufactures attachments that are performance-matched to Kubota equipment. Land Pride offers 48 different types of CTL attachments in 98 different sizes. What’s another thing that sets Kubota apart? All Kubota CTLs are powered by Kubota engines. They are Kubota through and through.
Advice for Compact Track Loader Buyers
“There is no substitute for knowing your application and tailoring your machine to it,” says Jerry Corder, product manager — construction equipment at Kubota. “From space limitations to attachments and their auxiliary flow requirements — all the way to transporting [truck and trailer] weight and license limitations. These are the specs buyers need to consider when making a track loader purchase. And the good news is Kubota will have a solution to fit many needs; we have a range of sizes, models and attachments to match the job.”
