The G Series Represents Four Next Generation Models

John Deere started offering dedicated track loaders in 2005 with two models. Over the years, the company has expanded its offering to include four models and numerous options and attachments. Completing its full portfolio of G-Series machines this year, the 317G, 325G, 331G and 333G represent the next generation of Deere’s compact track loaders, combining proven technologies, enhanced undercarriages and long-life designs. This includes noticeably more lift height, dump clearance and reach, as well as more breakout force than previous models.

Newest to the lineup this year, the mid-frame 325G compact track loader boasts 74 hp to deliver increased performance and higher pushing power. Capable of loading a 10-ft sidewall dump truck or hopper, this model helps operators reach new heights in a medium-sized package, boasting a height to hinge pin of 10 ft, 6 in. The 325G has the same pressurized cab of its large-frame counterparts, designed to keep out excess dust and noise. Knowing that a comfortable operator is a productive operator, cab enhancements include heated seats, Bluetooth radio, a rearview camera and an industry-leading deluxe LED lighting package that provides increased durability and 50 percent more visibility over standard equipped halogen lights.

The large frame G-Series machines have horsepower that is comparable to a small backhoe or crawler, and they also work comfortably in tight quarters, so operators can accomplish more with less machine. Operating capacities of up to 3,700 lbs (35 percent of tipping load) give these models the muscle needed to master heavy loads, coupled with a breakout force that has been increased by 40 percent to make lifting heavy loads easier.

The new G-Series machines make maintenance simple. The hood can be tilted up easily with gas shocks for convenient ground-level access to dipsticks, fuel- and fluid-filler necks and filters. The operator’s station swings up and out of the way in less than two minutes. All fluid fill locations are color-coded to avoid tune-up confusion, and the caps are tethered so that they can’t fall onto the ground and attract dirt. Hardened steel duel flanged rollers, triple flanged idlers and drive sprocket powered by a planetary drive system provide ultimate reliability.

Standard and optional high-flow auxiliary hydraulics allow operators to effortlessly run powered attachments, such as hydraulic hammers, cold planers, mulching heads and trenchers — just a few of the 100 attachments available. In fact, its Universal Quik-Tatch enables operators to go from bucket to forks and more in just seconds.

Flexible control choices allow contractors to choose between standard EH ISO controls, EH ISO joystick controls that are switchable between ISO- and H-patterns (available on all four models), EH four-way switchable controls that allow operations between ISO- or H-pattern or hand and foot controls of operation within the same machine (331G and 333G).

Every John Deere machine comes with a level of comfort through its full machine standard warranty. It promises John Deere will fix any defects in materials or worksmanship on its compact equipment for two years after delivery or 2,000 hours.

Advice to Buyers

“Consider the newest technologies for increasing jobsite productivity,” says Gregg Zupancic, John Deere product marketing manager for skid steers and compact track loaders. “Manufacturers are creating intuitive, easy-to-use solutions like on-board grade indication systems. This technology helps operators accurately identify the existing grade in real-time and then recheck the grade after the work is done. This can all be done right from the seat of the cab.”
