John Deere Track Loaders — 2016 Spec Guide

John Deere’s Next Generation Models Purpose-Built for Productivity

A close relative of the skid steer loader, compact track loaders are versatile, powerful machines in a small package. With rubber tracks instead of wheels, compact track loaders are better suited to softer terrain and have a lower impact on the ground. Compact track loaders are relative newcomers to the compact category. John Deere started offering these dedicated track loaders in 2005 with two models. Over the years, the company has expanded its offering to include five models and numerous options and attachments.

John Deere understands that to be competitive, you need machines that maximize productivity and uptime at low daily operating costs. Whether updating an existing machine or designing a new model, Deere gets extensive input through the Customer Advocate Group process. The new Final Tier 4 small frame G-Series Compact Track Loader (317G) is a great example of how well this works. Customers asked for more productivity, better visibility and simplified service. John Deere answered by improving these areas and by adding many other features that make these new models even easier to run and maintain.

With bigger fuel capacity, serviceability, durability, and competitive pricing, the 317G stacks up favorably against the competition. Key features include 24% more engine power, 11% additional fuel capacity, 25% more cab space and easy serviceability and maintenance. The new vertical-lift design on the 317G (65 hp) provides excellent all-around visibility with clear sight lines both above and below the boom to enable easier grading in tight spaces, plus the low-profile rear-hood design expands rear views.

John Deere’s E Series mid-frame models (323E and 329E) combine proven technologies, enhanced undercarriages and long-life designs. These units also offer numerous customer-recommended enhancements that help contractors increase productivity and uptime and keep daily operating costs low. These include a larger operator station, a quiet pressurized cab with good visibility and a curved-glass, swing-out door.

The John Deere compact track loader line also features an innovative cooling system and optional hydraulically-driven, variable-speed fan that reverses to clear debris buildup, keeping the machines running smoothly longer. Each model’s steel-reinforced tracks provide sure-footed traction and superior longevity, says Deere. Additional options include an electro-hydraulic joystick, variable boom and bucket speed settings and more than 100 attachments.

The large-frame E Series models feature a flat floor design with 25 percent more foot room than previous models. The models also include low-effort electro-hydraulic (EH) controls for additional comfort and ease of operation. The EH controls are available for ISO, H and foot patterns and the operator now has the option to switch between all three controls
