Manufactured in Madison, South Dakota, the Gehl CTL lineup reflects a range of sizes and options that provide contractors with a powerful tool for material handling, attachment use and multi-purpose work. The most recent introductions include three all-new compact track loaders (the VT210, VT230 and VT275) that deliver significant improvements in safety, comfort, productivity, simplicity and serviceability over previous Gehl CTLs. These new models are vertical lift and feature a new lift arm design meant to improve visibility. The operator experience has also been improved with an update on Gehl’s patented folding door — and the new cab further improves visibility with a new window and roof design. Breakout forces and tank capacities are increased for greater productivity and longer operating times — all with a focus on lower total cost of ownership (TCO).
Of particular interest: Auxiliary hydraulics (both standard and high flow) have been enhanced to make attachment use even more productive, and Gehl offers a full and expansive lineup of Manitou Group attachments to make these machines even more versatile. Another new model — the RT195 — operates at 69 hp and is built with numerous track widths and tread patterns to aid in stability and added counterweights to further boost the power and strength of the machine. The radial-lift arm design makes the machine excellent for ground engaging work, and the added auxiliary hydraulic performance provides an excellent platform for running a wide range of attachments.
Gehl CTL Unique Features
The new models stand out from the competition with exclusive features, as well as new modern advances that put Gehl CTLs at the forefront of today’s compact earthmoving and attachment needs. These include:
IdealTrax: This patented track-tensioning system tensions the track to the proper tension when the machine is started and relieves the tension when the machine is turned off, which prolongs the track’s life and makes cleaning out the tracks easier.
Each new CTL (except the RT195) also features the exclusive optional Gehl IdealAccess door. Equipment owners are increasingly moving away from the traditional swing-out doors for a variety of reasons, including visibility, easier access to the cab and less likelihood of damage to the door.
All-new vertical-lift arm design: One of the most distinct features of the new Gehl CTLs is the extremely robust vertical-lift, sloped-arm design that both improves visibility and reduces the amount of material that gathers on the arms and allows for all hydraulic lines to be routed in or under the arms for greater protection.
Compact Track Loader Advice to Buyers
“There’s such a wide variety of lift patterns, track widths, hydraulic capabilities and sizes that there is really no reason to ever settle for a compact track loader that doesn’t fit your operation,” says Nathan Ryan, global product manager of skid and track loaders for Gehl. “Work with your local dealer to match the right footprint and capability of the machine with the right attachments to optimize your business.”
