M2-Series Models Provide Productivity, Power and Operator Comfort

In 1999, Bobcat Co. introduced the company’s compact track loader line, calling it the industry’s first American-made compact track loader with a solid-mounted undercarriage. Today’s Bobcat compact track loader lineup includes nine models with radial- and vertical-lift-path configurations — from the 56-in.-wide T450 to the 100-hp T870. On the large end, the T870 has a maximum lift height of 12 ft, making it the highest lifting compact track loader in the compact equipment industry, says Bobcat.

In fall 2016, Bobcat expanded on the popularity of its M-Series loaders with the M2-Series compact track loaders. M2-Series compact track loaders offer a variety of performance, operator comfort and visibility enhancements to help increase your productivity and provide enhanced uptime protection. The M2-Series lineup includes Bobcat 400-, 500-, 600-, 700- and 800-frame-size compact track loaders.

M2-Series loaders have been enhanced to increase operator comfort with the placement of new front and rear cab isolators, improved door seals and side screen dampers. These design elements reduce noise, vibration and dust inside the compact loader cab. Also, a lift cylinder cushioning feature adjusts the loader arm speed just before they reach the stops for smoother movements and increased comfort. A solid-mount undercarriage delivers easier track undercarriage clean out, better ride quality, improved rear clearance, interchangeable tracks and enhanced ground clearance, says Bobcat. The optional roller suspension system utilizes an all-steel suspension, which increases durability and provides a smooth ride. The T870 also features a 5-link torsion suspension undercarriage. This undercarriage has a unique fifth link on the rear axle that stabilizes the loader when grading and lifting for increased performance and ride quality.

Compact track loader options include two-speed travel to boost top travel speed, reducing travel time across jobsites. An optional deluxe instrument panel helps to monitor machine performance, minimize downtime and improve productivity. For added comfort, an enclosed cab with heat and air conditioning is available. Bobcat compact track loaders also provide a non-DPF solution which is achieved by utilizing an ultra-low particulate combustion (ULPC) engine.

Advice to Buyers

“Before deciding on a specific model, consider what attachments you may use,” says Mike Fitzgerald, loader product specialist with Bobcat. “This will help you make a more informed decision about engine horsepower and hydraulic flow needed to operate your loader and attachments. Also, consider the types of surfaces where you will be operating, such as grass or concrete, and if you want a track that delivers a high amount of traction or a track type that minimizes ground disturbance.”
