Bobcat Track Loaders — 2015 Spec Guide

Eight Tracked Models from the Inventor of the Skid Steer Loader

In 1999, Bobcat Co. introduced the organization’s compact track loader line, calling it the industry’s first American-made compact track loader with a solid-mounted undercarriage. Today, it has evolved into the M-Series line. With a lineup that includes both radius- and vertical-lift-path machines, the M-Series compact track loader line includes eight models — from the small-sized T450 to the 100-hp T870. On the large end, the T870 has a lift height of 12 ft, making it the highest lifting compact track loader in the industry, says Bobcat.

M-Series compact track loaders are defined by a larger, more comfortable cab, higher hydraulic flows and pressures for better attachment performance and improved uptime protection features. The cab-forward design moves the operator closer to the attachment and all-around visibility has been significantly improved from inside the pressurized cab.

The optional Bobcat Roller Suspension system utilizes steel-embedded tracks, which increases durability. This low-maintenance roller suspension system is designed for a smooth ride, is standard equipment on T870 loaders and is available as an option on the Bobcat T550, T590, T630, T650, T750 and T770 compact track loaders. All models use offset C-pattern rubber tracks.

The optional M-Series deluxe instrument panel helps to minimize downtime, monitor machine performance and improve operator productivity. The exclusive 5-in., full-color LCD screen enables multi-language monitoring of diagnostics, machine temperatures and pressures. It also allows theft protection with the ability to program custom keyless start codes and lock out certain machine functions to prevent misuse or damage. Also available is an attachment controls help menu to answer questions about operating attachments, keep track of attachment service intervals or make adjustments to laser-guided attachments without leaving the cab.

Performing routine maintenance is simple. Engine checkpoints are located within easy reach. A swing-open tailgate provides convenient access to routine maintenance points. For non-routine service, the cab tips back for access to hydraulic and hydrostatic components. Bobcat offers four operating configurations: standard mechanical foot pedals and steering levers; standard controls with power assist on the T870; an advanced control system; and selectable joystick controls. Additionally, the optional radio remote control system is available for operating joystick-controlled machines from outside the cab.

Advice to Buyers

“Having either hand and foot controls or hand-controls-only control configuration options can be beneficial when purchasing a machine,” says Mike Fitzgerald, loader product specialist with Bobcat Co.  “Operators are more productive and less fatigued at the end of a day when they have operated a machine that meets their preferred method of control.”
