50 years ago, Yoder & Frey launched the first sale in Kissimmee FL and at that time little did they know what an international phenomenon this used construction machinery an agricultural sale would become. Now 50 years on, Yoder & Frey are proud to report they are still attracting the crowds and breaking records in Florida.

Yoder & Frey continues to attract buyers and sellers to the Florida Winter Sale in Kissimmee from not just across the USA, but from a truly global audience. Yoder & Frey welcomed the crowds as they returned not just to bid and buy, but to see old friends, make new acquaintances and experience the biggest sale week on the planet. Yoder & Frey ran their sale between February 14-17 attracting vendors from 14 countries around the world.

Senior Vice President of Yoder & Frey, Mike Thurston, comments on this startling start to the auction year. “Still selling at Kissimmee after 50 years is a great achievement for us and one, we are very proud of. But in terms of our achievements as we enter 2024, we broke all records at this sale”

  • First time registrations were up by 30%
  • First time buyers were up by 35%
  • Total registrations were up by 30%
  • US registered vendors were up by 50%
  • International vendors were up by 50%
  • Hammer prices been increasing by 20% sale on sale

“We are delighted by these statistics, the result of our hard work over the last 12-months. Since I was appointed as the new Vice President of Yoder & Frey in mid-2023, we have made some exciting changes. We have strengthened the sales team, adding heavy weight specialists who are all experts in their own rights whist getting back to basics.”

“Our increased statistical performance and market share was not simply won from our competitors, but was generated by getting out there, banging on doors seeking new business, much of which was from vendors new to the auction. My remit to the sales team has been to find fresh business, make new relationships, be proactive, do the miles, go and see new customers first-hand. In these days of the internet and online selling, I have urged our teams to go back to basics, get out there and press the flesh. Sure, we also sell online but people buy from people, so go out and make new customer friends. The results, well they speak for themselves.”

“We are a face-to-face business. We run live sales, we like the sound and the feel of the auction and as a result our customers do too. So, sourcing new consignors, rental companies refreshing their fleets, dealers rotating their stock, inviting them to our auctions has increased the volume of our sales inventory.”

“We have appointed Felix Rodrigue as US Key Account Manager, who is drawing on his contact list and is attracting regular, sizeable consignments. We have Tim Williams on the team who many may remember as punter and kicker for Ohio State Buckeyes, making new ground and bringing on baorsd new consignment in Ohio. Randy Whitaker is burning up the road miles in Florida”

“The other contributing factor to our increased performance at this Kissimmee Winter Sale, was our ability to leverage our international reach as part of the Euro Auctions Group of auction sites in the UK, Europe, Middle East, Australia and Canada. Sales managers from each of the six global suites consigned machines to this sale, as well as bringing with them their buyer base, contributing to increase in new international buyers.”

“Euro Auctions Group is the leading auction brand in Europe, also the biggest privately run auction business in the world, which is still family run. This gives Yoder & Frey an international perspective, benefiting from understanding the international demand for construction equipment, which is affected by global market trends.
