Sunbelt Rentals Named Official Equipment Provider for LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games

Partnership Covers Team USA and 40+ Venues
Sunbelt Rentals will serve as the rental equipment solutions and services provider for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The role includes supplying equipment for more than 40 competition venues across Los Angeles. The Games’ model relies on temporary venues and overlays rather than permanent builds, which aligns with Sunbelt’s large-scale event experience. From the press release:
“We’re proud to be an official partner to LA28 on this project as we work together to build and power the infrastructure for athletes to compete on the world stage,” said Brendan Horgan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sunbelt Rentals. “Sunbelt is well-equipped to provide end-to-end support for LA28 through our talented team, breadth of experience and vast network of products and solutions–all while living out our shared values of sustainability, safety and innovation. We’re looking forward to bringing these venues to life with our deep expertise in entertainment and sporting events and ability to execute at-scale.”
Wide Range of Equipment and Services
Sunbelt will deploy teams and equipment throughout the Games. Its support will include:
- Power and HVAC
- Heavy equipment
- Ground protection
- Temporary fencing
- Scaffold
The company has more than 1,400 locations across North America, including 35 in the Los Angeles area. This footprint positions Sunbelt to manage delivery and service during the multi-week event.
Focus on Sustainability and Efficiency
LA28 has committed to hosting a no-permanent-build Games. The approach reduces construction waste and reuses existing infrastructure. Sunbelt’s rental model and broad catalog of equipment support those goals.
Equipment Rental Industry Presence
Headquartered in Fort Mill, South Carolina, Sunbelt is one of North America’s largest equipment rental providers. Its portfolio serves construction, industrial, municipal and event markets. This Olympic partnership highlights how large equipment rental firms now play a role in major global sporting events. The LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games will bring more than 15,000 athletes to Southern California in 2028. Planning and buildout for venues will ramp up in the years ahead, with Sunbelt Rentals at the center of equipment delivery. From the press release:
“We are thrilled to partner with the Sunbelt team to progress our mission toward a no-permanent-build Games, grounded in sustainable operations and seamless integration in the areas that house LA28 venues,” said LA28 Chief Executive Officer Reynold Hoover. “LA28’s goal is to deliver a safe, circular, and efficient buildout of our competition venues, and we are excited that Sunbelt, with its strong presence in the Los Angeles community, will help us meet these goals. Together, we’re bringing an innovative approach to this complex project to support the athletes, fans, team members and the LA community as we celebrate the talents of our home and visiting teams.”
