Sany continues to impress with its commitment to sustainability. The company’s 2024 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report outlines big strides in green manufacturing, energy efficiency and global responsibility. Combined with a standout electric showcase at bauma 2025, the Chinese brand is proving it’s serious about building an eco-friendly future in compact equipment and beyond. From a recent press release:

“In the future, Sany plans to continuously boost investment in clean technology research and development, manufacturing facility upgrades and market expansion, to further expand clean energy product lines and efficient energy utilization solutions. We will continue our efforts to bring more value to our customers and support the green transformation with new quality productive forces,” said Mr. Xiang Wenbo, Chairman of Sany Heavy Industry.

Major ESG Investments in 2024

Sany invested over $72 million in environmental protection last year. That investment powered significant improvements across the company’s global operations:

  • Clean Energy Usage: Sany used over 76 million kWh of photovoltaic power across 21 facilities — 13.8 percent of its total energy.
  • Cost Savings: Energy-saving efforts reduced costs by over $44 million.
  • Emission Reductions: VOC emission density dropped nearly 18 percent since 2021. Wastewater pollutants like COD fell by over 84 percent.

Sany also upgraded wastewater treatment systems and expanded its clean tech R&D, paving the way for future carbon-reduction advances.

Social Progress and Worker Safety

Sany’s ESG impact goes beyond emissions. In 2024, it:

  • Employed 89 percent local hires at international sites.
  • Increased female representation in executive roles to 12 percent.
  • Trained 93 percent of employees through 485 sessions.
  • Recorded zero occupational diseases and maintained a 1.78 percent injury rate.

The company also gave $2.5 million to public welfare efforts, supporting 143 projects in education, disaster relief and rural development.

We visited Sany at bauma 2025, and it easily ranked among our top 10 booths. The company filled 5,652 sq m with machines, tech demos and interactive exhibits. Sany’s theme? “The World of Efficiency.” It lived up to that promise. Sany showed off 11 electric machines at bauma, including:

  • SW956E: A 20-ton all-electric wheel loader.
  • STR50E: The world’s first 5-ton electric roller.
  • STH625E: A compact 6-meter telehandler tailored for Europe.
  • SY10U: A micro 1-ton electric excavator.
  • SCM500E-10: A compact, zero-emissions milling machine.
  • SCC2000A-EV: A high-tonnage electric crawler crane.

Final Thoughts

Sany is clearly leading by example. Its 2024 ESG results show real environmental and social impact. Its electric machines prove that zero-emissions construction equipment is not just a concept — it’s here. We admire Sany’s focus on clean energy, innovation and global responsibility. We’ll be watching closely as it expands these efforts in the years ahead — especially in the United States. From the press release:

“We accelerated our global layout in 2024 and leveraged digital technologies to promote intelligent manufacturing and transformation, actively research and develop new energy equipment and low-carbon products to support global sustainable development,” noted Mr. Xiang Wenbo. “Looking ahead, we aim to lead new productivity development including green and intelligent technologies and contribute to reaching China’s ‘Dual Carbon’ goals and global climate actions.”
