Prinoth Announces Panther T23r Crawler Carrier, New Undercarriage Technology

Crawler carrier manufacturer Prinoth officially announced its new T23r Crawler Carrier March 3, touting the new machine as the largest and most technologically advanced machine of its kind in the industry.
The new model will also be the first to incorporate the company’s new PowerForce undercarriage, according to representatives. Called a “breakthrough design” by company officials, the new technology aims to deliver unmatched performance on a variety of terrain, and high levels of operational efficiency.
“Customers are pushing farther into remote, sensitive and high-consequence environments,” says Frank M. Gangi, product manager for the Prinoth Panther. “With the Panther T23r, we set out to give them a machine that feels completely in control on those sites, with a payload and undercarriage that lets them haul more in fewer passes while protecting the jobsite and the machine.”
Leading the pack in operational payload, the Panther T23r comes in at 22.5 short tons, despite its relatively compact frame of 9.8 feet wide and 10.8 feet tall. The machine also sports a Hardox-brand steel dump box a telescopic cylinder, which will “cylinder enable precise material placement in confined spaces where conventional haulers cannot operate.”
“The PowerForce undercarriage represents a fundamental advancement in crawler carrier design,” the company says. “Where competitors often rely on rigid walking beam systems that transfer every bump directly to the operator and cargo, PowerForce absorbs terrain variations while maximizing power transfer to the ground. The result is a machine that works harder, travels faster, saves fuel and significantly improved operator comfort.”
Next-generations features
The Prinoth Panther T23r sports an adaptive independent suspension system, according to the company. Supported by the new undercarriage technology, the dual-setting suspension system maintains ride quality whether the machine is empty or full, or anywhere in between, according to the firm.
Also new to the Panther T23r, the machine’s oval track shape reduces bend points by up to 50%, officials say. The company hopes to minimize machine energy loss with each track revolution in order to transfer more engine power directly to vehicle motion. The PowerForce system also factors into the machine’s precision track alignment.
“The PowerForce system achieves track pitch precision 10 times greater than standard crawler carriers,” the company says. “Engineered with precise link spacing, with an auto-centering “fox head” profile, the planetary drives deliver smooth sprocket operation, engaging 15 teeth simultaneously versus conventional single-point contact. Its roller and wheel configuration virtually eliminates de-tracking, even under extreme maneuvering, minimizing downtime and extending track life.”
Also included on the new crawler carrier is a dual-action tensioning system, which the company says can make real-time adjustments. These quick changes can help extend undercarriage service life, officials say, while also ensuring “maximum performance” across a number of terrain types.
The new Panther T23r also features Prinoth’s newly redesigned cabin, complete with enhanced visibility and a number of standard equipment features. The cabin also allows for an optional buddy seat.
The T23r is available now through Prinoth’s dealer network, the company says.
