ICYMI: Contractors Discuss Cat’s New CTLs, Bobcat’s Big Week, Volvo’s Holiday Prep and More

Happy belated Halloween! We’ve had a busy week around here covering all sorts of industry news, working on our November/December issue and raiding our kids candy buckets. (My personal favorites are Milk Duds and 100 Grand bars.) So while I clean up all the wrappers, feel free to catch up from the week…

1. A Contractor’s Perspective. A few weeks ago, we visited Caterpillar at its Edwards Demonstration and Learning Center to learn all about the company’s Next Generation track loaders. While there, we had the opportunity to listen to the contractors behind the testing process of developing the new machines. Go read what they had to say!

2. and 3. Bobcat’s Big Week. This week we shared two really cool headlines from Bobcat. First, Cyril and Louis Keller, the brothers who invented the Bobcat skid-steer loader, have formally been inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame. BIG congrats! Next, the company is making a HUGE investment into its future with a whopping $5 million donation toward a new Center for Engineering and Computational Sciences at North Dakota State University. Just awesome!

4. Eerie Implements. I’m a huge Halloween fan, so I loved reading this publisher’s message highlighting some spooky-sounding attachments like IronCraft‘s X-Treme Tree Reaper, a silage defacer, cemetery buckets and more.

5. Volvo’s Light Show. Now that Halloween’s outta the way, we can move on to Christmas. Volvo Construction Equipment just announced that its preparing for Holiday Lights 2023, a fun and festive way for families to enjoy the decorations and sounds of the season from the comfort of their vehicles. Man, why is Shippensburg so far away from Akron?!
