Dream Traxx, motocross racing and Cat Rental Equipment
A man on a bike defying gravity — that sums up Jason Baker’s motocross racing career. Now, he’s putting his competitive spirit to work designing, building and resurfacing the tracks on which he used to ride, with a fleet of Cat rental equipment and Cat dealer Ring Power at his side.
“I love the creative freedom that I have to build a track,” said Baker, who rode competitively until 2003 and built his first motocross track at his home.
Today, his company Dream Traxx works on tracks around the world — some as long as 50,000 to 70,000 yards — requiring big iron and bigger flexibility.
“Rental is the way to go because he travels so far and so much,” said Gregg Brill, Jason’s account manager at Ring Power. “The cost involved to move the machines wouldn’t make sense, so rental is the key for Jason to succeed in his business.”
Cost savings and mobility aren’t the only benefits. Baker also appreciates the reliability and new technology he gets with Cat rental machines.
“We’re constantly running new, up-to-date machines, limiting breakdowns and building the best track we can with the most technically advanced machines that are available,” he says.
Service and support from Ring Power also play a key role in completing projects on schedule and on budget.
“I’m not just an account number,” Baker said. “Even though I’m a small business, they’re giving me their best.”
