Recognition Spans Manufacturing, Mental Well-Being, Inclusion and More

Bobcat Co. has earned a major workplace honor. Newsweek named the compact equipment leader to its 2025 list of America’s Greatest Workplaces — recognizing the brand in seven distinct categories. This news follows Compact Equipment’s recent coverage of John Deere’s fourth Civic 50 award for community impact. While Deere was recognized for volunteerism and philanthropy, Bobcat is being honored for building one of the most supportive work environments in manufacturing. From the press release:

“We are honored to be recognized among Newsweek’s list of America’s Greatest Workplaces 2025,” said Stacey Breuer, vice president of human resources at Doosan Bobcat North America, Inc. “These awards are a reflection of the culture our employees help create every day — one where our employees are empowered to do great work and careers are built with intention.”

Newsweek, in partnership with research firm Plant-A Insights, ranked Bobcat across a wide spectrum of employee-focused benchmarks:

  • America’s Greatest Workplaces
  • Greatest Workplaces for Manufacturing
  • Greatest Workplaces by State – North Dakota
  • Greatest Workplaces for Parents and Families
  • Greatest Workplaces for Gen Z
  • Greatest Workplaces for Mental Well-Being
  • Greatest Workplaces for Inclusion & Diversity

These rankings are based on a large-scale study that analyzed over 1.5 million reviews from 250,000 U.S. employees across 78 sectors.

Built in the Heartland

Bobcat employs over 5,000 people across the United States, with its North American headquarters in West Fargo, North Dakota. Its employees design, build and support some of the industry’s most advanced compact machines and worksite solutions.

Investing in Employee Experience

Bobcat has recently expanded programs to support career development and engagement. These include:

  • Onboarding and mentorship initiatives
  • Leadership and learning programs
  • Competitive benefits packages
  • Employee resource groups

The company notes that these investments have helped boost retention and empower employees to thrive in their roles. From the press release:

“At Bobcat, we are proud of our people and the positive impact they continue to have on our customers, communities and Bobcat’s success,” said Mike Ballweber, president of Doosan Bobcat North America, Inc. “We will always strive to provide an innovative work environment for our employees and continue to invest in their future, so they have the opportunity to excel and succeed at Bobcat.”

Why It Matters to Equipment Owners

Contractors and fleet managers know the value of a strong brand. But a strong workplace matters too. A company that invests in its workforce is more likely to innovate, deliver consistent product quality and support long-term customer relationships. Just like John Deere’s investments in civic leadership and American manufacturing, Bobcat’s workplace focus shows a deeper commitment to sustainability — not just in the field, but in the factory and office too.
