Blue Diamond Launches HDX Series Grapples for Skid Steers, CTLs and Tractors Up to 75 HP

Blue Diamond Unveils HDX Series Grapple Rakes and Buckets for Site Cleanup

Mid-Range Grapples Offer Durable, High-Capacity Performance for Skid Steers, CTLs and Tractors up to 75 hp

Blue Diamond Attachments has launched the HDX Series — a new line of grapple rakes and buckets designed for mid-sized skid steers, compact track loaders and tractors. These heavy-duty grapples target land clearing, storm cleanup, landscaping and debris removal applications, delivering a cost-effective alternative between the company’s HD and Severe Duty lines. Let’s break down the specs, standout features and how this new series fits into Blue Diamond’s busy 2025 rollout.

Built for 75-hp and Under

The HDX Series was engineered specifically for machines in the 75-hp and below range — a common sweet spot for contractors and landowners. With a 72-in. working width, 37-in. depth and 32-in. grapple opening, these attachments are sized right for serious material handling without overloading mid-sized carriers. A key advantage of Blue Diamond HDX Series Grapples is the wide opening which allows the operator to grab bulkier items in one load. Uneven or awkward material are stable and secured by the independent acting top clamps that have commercial grade hydraulic cylinders for maximum clamping force. From the press release:

“We added the HDX Series Grapples to our full lineup to fill a gap in the market for a site cleanup attachment that meets the needs of contractors and landowners looking to work in that 75-horsepower range,” said Drew Truan, chief executive officer at Blue Diamond Attachments. “We listened to those customers and developed this new series, so they had what they need, when they need it. We believe the HDX Series will become the go-to grapples throughout North America.”

Performance Features

These new grapple rakes and buckets offer multiple enhancements aimed at durability and efficiency:

  • Stronger cylinder protection covers
  • A fully welded cylinder for increased clamping force
  • Thicker ¼ inch tubing in the frame weldment
  • Pivot point grease fittings
  • Enhanced hose protection
  • Dual top clamps for load stability

Operators can expect better load control and clamping force — ideal for handling brush, logs, demolition debris and more.

Blue Diamond’s Busy 2025: Cold Planers, Mulchers, Rock Rakes

The HDX Series is just the latest in a wave of 2025 product launches from Blue Diamond.

  • Extreme Duty Series 2 Cold Planers hit the market earlier this year, offering self-leveling systems, hydraulic side shift and widths up to 48 in.
  • The Heavy-Duty Drum Mulcher, with 60-in. cutting width and 22- to 46-gpm flow range, was designed to grind everything from brush to stumps. See photo above.
  • Blue Diamond also released a Hydraulic Rock Rake, which clears rocks from ¾-in. to 8-in. in size, using 12 staggered rake bars and 484 AR400 teeth.

Each of these tools is aimed at making land prep, vegetation management and surface milling easier, faster and more precise.

Helping Contractors Spec the Right Attachments

Blue Diamond Attachments has also been a valuable content partner to Compact Equipment in 2025.

  • In our recent Machine Heads video (also above), we dove into auger drives and how to spec them for CTLs — featuring a Blue Diamond auger in action.
  • Earlier in June, we detailed how their silt fence installer attachment boosts erosion control productivity, especially with the optional wire unroller and side-shift mount for tight access jobs.

These tools help contractors do more with their compact equipment — and avoid wasting money on the wrong spec.
