Volvo Rents Raises Money for Veterans with Red, White and Blue Equipment (Video)
Doing its part to help those who dedicate their lives defending our freedom, Volvo Construction Equipment Rents Inc. (Volvo Rents), a worldwide provider of small-to-medium sized construction equipment, recently announced its national support of the Folds of Honor Foundation and Homes for Our Troops.
Through the newly established alliances, Volvo Rents will aid in raising the necessary funds to provide post-secondary educational scholarships to the spouses and children of service members disabled or killed as a result of their military service (Folds of Honor), as well as funds, building materials and professional labor to build homes for severely disabled veterans (Homes for Our Troops).
Volvo Rents’ “Color for a Cause” initiative will play a key role in raising the necessary funds to provide such support. In support of Folds of Honor, 10 Volvo Rents stores have painted a piece of construction equipment red, white and blue. Each time the equipment is rented, a percentage of the revenues are donated. To date, Volvo Rents has donated over $25,000 to the Folds of Honor. In addition, Volvo Rents is currently donating rental equipment to support Homes for Our Troops’ home-building efforts. Company plans call for donating equipment in 15 markets throughout 2011, with an estimated “in-kind” donation of more than $75,000.
Below is a “Color for a Cause” segment that aired during the Sunday, May 22, 2011 edition of FOX & Friends. The nearly four-minute feature highlighted Volvo Rents’ continued partnership with such organizations as Folds of Honor and Homes for Our Troops, and featured live interviews with both Volvo Rents vice president of marketing Nick Mavrick and Folds of Honor’s Major Dan Rooney. Two pieces of “patriotic” equipment remained in the background throughout the duration of the segment.
