Volvo Rents Partners with Homes for Our Troops

Over the course of the eight-year-long wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the United States sent more than two million Americans overseas to serve at some point. Of those who had served this country, more than 45,000 veterans have returned home with injuries sustained during combat. With this staggering statistic in mind, Volvo Construction Equipment Rents Inc. (Volvo Rents), a worldwide provider of small-to-medium sized construction equipment, is partnering with Homes for Our Troops in 2012 for the second straight year.

“Based on the reaction and success from our partnership in 2011, we were extremely excited to once again work together with Homes for Our Troops and provide much-needed aid to injured military members,” said Barry Natwick, COO of Volvo Rents. “As 2012 progresses, we look forward to further growing our partnership with Homes for Our Troops and getting more Volvo Rents locations nationwide involved with this great cause.”

Through its partnership, Volvo Rents will assist by donating construction equipment for the building of specially adapted homes for injured service members so they can return to a home that affords them independence and freedom. Currently, Volvo Rents is scheduled to help with the build-out of at least 17 homes in 2012. During its partnership with Homes for Our Troops in 2011, Volvo Rents aided in creating more than a dozen homes for injured U.S. troops.

In addition to its partnership with Homes for Our Troops, Volvo Rents will also be donating proceeds to the organization when specially painted construction equipment is rented from participating locations. A number of Volvo Rents stores across the country have painted select equipment, including boom lifts and excavators, in the colors of the American flag. The rental of this equipment will help in Volvo Rents’ continued mission to support the men and women who serve our country overseas.

Homes for Our Troops founder John Gonsalves added, “Volvo Rents’ contributions to the Homes for Our Troops program have been immeasurable. We are honored to work with Volvo Rents and the other organizations that have helped in lending their support to make Homes for Our Troops a success across the country.”
