Stone Receives National APA Best Practices Honors
Stone Construction Equipment Inc. has been honored by the American
Psychological Association (APA) with a National Best Practices Award. The
specific award is in recognition of an “Innovative Workplace Practice That
Fosters Employee Involvement.” The national awards honor companies that create
programs and maintain an environment that promotes a psychologically healthy
workplace.
The Best Practices Honor specifically recognizes a single program or policy
that stands out in facilitating a psychologically healthy workplace. Stone was
one of 10 companies from across the United States that received the Best
Practices Honor. Stone’s participatory culture exemplified by conducting daily
huddles with all employees was the practice that was specifically honored. Stone
was eligible for the national honor through having received the 2005 New York
State Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award. National honorees were announced
at a special ceremony in Washington, D.C., on March 4.
