Kawasaki Mule 3010 Trans4x4 Named 2006 American Hunter Vehicle of the Year
Kawasaki Motors Corp. U.S.A. announced that as part of the fourth annual
National Rifle Association (NRA) Publications Golden Bullseye Awards, the
Kawasaki Mule 3010 Trans4x4 was selected as the 2006 American Hunter Vehicle of
the Year.
The Mule 3010 Trans4x4 is the world’s first off-road utility vehicle that
gives the driver the ability to transform from a four-passenger 4×4 to a
two-passenger 4×4 with an extended cargo bed. With a few quick adjustments, the
operator can fold down the rear bench seat and extend the cargo bed farther
forward to increase payload capacity. When the operator wants to transform it
back to a
four-passenger vehicle, the same simple adjustments are made in
reverse order.
To qualify for the Golden Bullseye Award, the Mule 3010 Trans4x4 underwent
various tests by the editorial staff at American Hunter and had to meet the
following criteria: reliability in the field, innovation in design and function,
a value to the purchaser and styling benefiting the shooting sports industry and
its enthusiasts.
“Kawasaki is honored to receive this award from American Hunter,” said Vince
Iorio, Kawasaki product manager.
“The Mule 3010 Trans4x4 was created with, among other users, the sportsman in
mind as it allows up to 800 lbs of cargo and features, selectable two- or
four-wheel drive, self-adjusting brakes that are sealed to protect from water,
mud and debris. It also has 23-in. tires which provide a comfortable ride and
maximum traction over a variety of surfaces.”
The Golden Bullseye Awards are an acknowledgement of the finest products
available in the shooting sports industry and are voted on by an eight-member
committee consisting of editors, art staff and veteran publications staff. This
committee represents more than a century of collective experience in the firearm
industry.
The award was presented on May 19, during a special breakfast at the 2006
Annual NRA Members Meeting in Milwaukee, Wis.
