Honda Generators Renew as the Official Generator of Talladega Superspeedway

Talladega Superspeedway is the biggest, fastest, most competitive motorsports facility in the world. Records for both speed and competition have been established at the 2.66-mile superspeedway.

At 2.66 miles long, Talladega Superspeedway is the largest and most steeply banked oval track in the Sprint Cup Series. Speeds well in excess of 200 mph were commonplace at the Eastaboga, Ala, track before the advent of restrictor plates, and the oval is of course notorious for big its multi-car pileups that fans and drivers dub “The Big One.”

It’s a venue of power and speed, which is why Honda Power Equipment decided to team up with one of NASCAR’s biggest success stories to promote its line of portable generators. Yesterday, Honda Power Equipment announced a continuing sponsorship agreement with Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama. Honda’s series of portable generators will continue to be the track’s “Official Generator,” joining a distinguished list of products offered by select sponsors of the facility.

“Talladega Superspeedway is authentic NASCAR racing at its finest, and Honda Power Equipment is truly honored – and excited – to be a Talladega partner again this year,” said Steve Bailey, vice president, Honda Power Equipment. “In 2010, Talladega Superspeedway marks 41 years of the most competitive racing in NASCAR and Honda generators will be part of this action and rich history, providing racing teams and racing enthusiasts durable, quiet and dependable power.”

Unlike the racing motors at Talladega Superspeedway, all Honda generators are powered by Honda four-stroke engines that make these generators among the world’s quietest. Honda generators for typical residential use average 68 -72 decibels (dB).As an official sponsor, Honda Generators will host an interactive tailgating display and its “Hear No Evil” quiet generator tour in the Corporate Sponsor Fan Zone area at Talladega during each NASCAR race to demonstrate its full line of generators to race attendees. In addition, Honda representatives will be on hand to answer questions and provide support to the race teams, fans, vendors and recreational vehicles that rely upon generator power at each race.

An all-new sweepstakes will be offered during 2010, giving race fans the opportunity to win tickets and pit passes to the Aaron’s Dream Weekend of NASCAR action, Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure Driving Experiences and Honda generators. The sweepstakes can be entered by visiting a special contest Web Site at www.TalladegaSuperspeedway.com/HondaGenerators.

“We are proud to continue our relationship with Honda Generators,” said Grant Lynch, Talladega Superspeedway chairman. “Year after year, two things you can count on are great races at Talladega Superspeedway and the dependability of Honda Generators. We look forward to displaying Honda products to our thousands of loyal race fans.”
