Gehl Helps Construct a New Home with “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”
Gehl Co., a leading manufacturer of compact equipment used in construction
and agriculture applications, lent a helping hand on ABC’s show “Extreme
Makeover: Home Edition,” donating the use of a Gehl RS8-44 telescopic handler, a
Gehl CT6-18 telescopic handler and a Gehl 7810E skid loader to help build the
Koepke family of Dundee, Wis., a new home.
A completely new home was designed and built within 100 hours with the help
of many local companies, 1,500 subcontractors and 1,200 volunteers. As well as a
new home being built, new landscaping, home furnishings and renovation of the
historic Dundee Mill for the Dundee community were also included.
“We were proud to be asked to participate in a project like this,” said Dan
Keyes, Gehl vice president of sales and marketing. “We have the right equipment
to build homes and felt this was one way we could help the family, as well as
the community get the project complete in the tight schedule that was expected.”
The show aired Sunday, Nov. 19. Gehl is a leading manufacturer of equipment
used worldwide in construction and agricultural applications. “Extreme Makeover:
Home Edition,” which has won back-to-back Emmy Awards as Best Reality Program
(non-competitive), is currently in its fourth season on ABC.
