Cool Tool of the Day: Takeuchi Announces New TB285 Midsize Excavator
Takeuchi-US just recently announced the introduction of the TB285 midsize hydraulic excavator. Perhaps you remember the machine on display at CONEXPO-CONAGG 2011 in Las Vegas. This is a next generation 200 Series model and replaces the TB175. It has been completely redesigned and delivers higher performance, increased operator comfort, and simplified service.
The TB285 features an Interim Tier 4 turbocharged Yanmar engine that delivers 66.5 net hp. The operating weight is just under 20,000 lbs with a dig depth of 15 ft. It boasts a bucket breakout force of 16,568 lbs and a traction force of 19,783 lbs. Superior torque is the result for pushing, climbing or turning. Dual heavy-duty boom cylinders provide considerabl e strength for lifting and ample clearance for buckets and attachments. Options include a 21.7-in. wide steel track, hydraulic thumb and heavy-duty adjustable bucket coupler.
The newly designed upper structure with rounded counterweight and covers allow the TB285 to work in more confined areas, with power and dexterity. Standard 2-year/2000-hour warranty lets you work with confidence, knowing your machine is protected.
