Compact Equipment’s Bauma Photo Travelog (Day Three)

And another day has come to a close. Not too many original photos to share with you today. Many of these photos I gleened from the Bauma Web site because I had to send Stavros, CE Photographer and IT Guru, ahead to get our travel details in order. We leave the show tomorrow afternoon and volcanic ash is still a problem. Stavros is tracking down Captain Cid to charter our flight out of here. Oddly, Janeen volunteered to go with him. Maybe there’s something going on with those two.

Anyway, Day Three is in the books, and this will be the last photo update from the show. We’ll have more news postings tomorrow, but we’re going to be pressed for time according to Captain Cid’s itinerary Stavros just e-mailed me. Thanks for following the CE media crew during our Bauma adventure. We’ll be back tomorrow to wrap up the last little bits of info.

They all look like ants from here — ants with giant machines.

A moible Husqvarna mini excavator/compact utility loader hybrid — a breed we rarely see in the states.

Day three saw an increase in attendees as more folks made their way through ash cloud to the Bauma show floor.

Tier 4 Interim engines were all the rage at Bauma this year, and engine manufacturers, including Cummins (above) and John Deere Power Systems (below), were sure to make a big deal about them (and rightfully so).

The first excavator bucket designed for scooping up unruly tradeshow goers (just kidding).

Some exhibitor booths, like this New Holland booth, were like their own mini cities, complete with dining area, merch store and equipment dislplays.

A forest of booms and buckets was a common sight in the construction equipment wing of the trade show floor — and a welcome one, given the smaller North American trade shows that had not faired as well in the past year.

It’s another three years until we see another display as impressive as this. Enjoy it.
