Teams are judged on their technical and parts system skills, on how they handle their tools and how they apply the Volvo core values of quality, safety and environmental care in their work.

In the years since its inception in 1990, the Volvo Masters competition has seen many teams put their knowledge and skill to the test. The competition’s original goal was to increase the Volvo CE dealer’s service and parts technical teams’ knowledge of Volvo products around the world.

Since then, the aim has evolved to include enhancing the aptitude of Volvo trained dealer technicians and parts representatives in providing a consistently positive customer experience with every job, since improved education and broader experience results in more positive interaction with customers.

This year’s North American Masters Finals, which lasted three days from March 1-3 really heated up and was a nail-biter until the end. When the dust settled, the team from the Tarheel state was left standing. The ASC team, the Tarheels, pulled out the win in a grueling, yet fun and educational Volvo Masters competition. The Tarheels had to topple seasoned and experienced teams from Rudd, Romco and Redhead to earn the 2011 Masters Trophy.

Volvo Masters competitions are held in North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Region International. All regional winning teams will travel to Sweden to compete in the world-wide Masters Competition, to be held in Eskilstuna, Sweden from June 26 to July 2, 2011.
